  • What are autoethnographies?

Here are some readings - overviews on AE and alos a few examples. to get us talking and asking questions about AE's and our project.
Ellis, C. (1999). Heartful Autoethnography. Qualitative Health Research, 9(5), 669–683. http://doi.org/10.1177/104973299129122153. (Great intro via an evocative (creative) type AE of what these things are and mean.)
    Ellis, C., Adams, T. E., & Bochner, A. P. (2011). Autoethnography: an overview. Historical Social Research/Historische Sozialforschung, 273–290. (Good overview of AE)
Ellis & Bochner -- “We can tell you stories” YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKZ-wuJ_vnQ
Sarah Wall “Autoethnography: Possibility and Controversy” YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEWF0SV9F_s (I think it’s fair to say that Wall’s more of an “analytic” autoethnographer, more traditional social science discourse.)
