  • What are autoethnographies?

Here are some readings - overviews on AE and alos a few examples. to get us talking and asking questions about AE's and our project.
Ellis, C. (1999). Heartful Autoethnography. Qualitative Health Research, 9(5), 669–683. (Great intro via an evocative (creative) type AE of what these things are and mean.)
    Ellis, C., Adams, T. E., & Bochner, A. P. (2011). Autoethnography: an overview. Historical Social Research/Historische Sozialforschung, 273–290. (Good overview of AE)
Ellis & Bochner -- “We can tell you stories” YouTube.
Sarah Wall “Autoethnography: Possibility and Controversy” YouTube. (I think it’s fair to say that Wall’s more of an “analytic” autoethnographer, more traditional social science discourse.)
